Kömürhan Bridge Connection Tunnel and Road has officially been inaugurated with the participation of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of the Republic of Turkey and Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey.

This special category bridge which is the 4th single pylon cable-stayed bridge of the world is of great importance in terms of logistics because once it is operational it will the shortest route between Malatya and Elazığ as well as a crossing route for 16 provinces of the Eastern Anatolia. The project involves the construction of a bridge connection tunnel with a total length of 4.820 m including double tubes with 4 vehicle crossings and 4 turnouts and road.

The contract for the "Kömürhan Bridge Connection Tunnel and Road" project, was signed by Doğuş - Gülsan Joint Venture on December 20, 2013, and the construction of the project started in January 2014.
