Doğuş wins the Marmaray 2nd Phase Tender

Doğuş is ranked the first in the 2nd Phase Marmaray tender pertaining to the “Gebze-Haydarpaşa, Sirkeci-Halkalı Commuter Rail Upgrading; Civil & Electrical & Mechanical Systems (CR1)” works which is one of the most prominent projects in Turkey.

The bids offered by the AMD Rail, Astaldi-Ansaldo JV, Bechtel Enka JV, EurasiaRay Group (Siemens AG- Siemens A.Ş.- Yapı Merkezi Kiska) consortiums for the execution of the project were opened in the presence of the public notary at the General Directorate of Railways, Harbors and Airports Construction (DLH) Building under the Ministry of Transportation. The lowest bid was offered by the AMD Rail with Euro 866 million 392 thousand 910 in total, Euro 815 million 49 thousand 200 of which was as the contract amount and the Euro 51 million 343 thousand 710 as the ‘provisional sum” in order to be used for unforeseen situations.

To be completed in 48 months

İbrahim Şahin, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation who was present in the tender stated that the completion of the works within the scope of the second phase tender was scheduled to be completed within 48 months. The existing 43,4 km-long commuter railway line in the Asian side and 19,6 km-long in the European side shall be upgraded and become a kind of above-ground metro with the addition of the third railway line and the renewal of 36 stations to be modern stations. Euro 650 million of the Contract amount shall be financed with the loan to be secured from the European Investment Bank.
